V-Fest
Set a reminder for Monday night, 30th November at 6:30pm and watch the World Premiere of Virtual V-Fest 2020 with your friends and family by clicking here.
“V-Fest” is a student video festival celebrating the phenomenal talent that is developing in the medium of video making. It was originally conceived as a showcase for senior high school video students whose work was only ever viewed by their class and their parents and it has taken off from there.
Ms Cave, the video teacher at the old Vaucluse High School, decided to initiate the Festival in 1999. The first screening was in the Vaucluse High School hall and was attended by 150 very excited students and their parents. Since that time the numbers have increased, the venue is now the Chauvel Cinema in Paddington and V-Fest has become one of the most eagerly anticipated dates on the school calendar.
The process for V-Fest usually starts in February, when the students from RBSC are invited to design the V-Fest poster for that year. Then entry forms are sent to schools (both public and private) from all over the Sydney Metropolitan area
There are no limitations on content but there is always a signature item to be considered in the students video, that of the letter “V”. This can be as simple as an actual piece of type or something found in the environment. The “V” refers to the origins of the festival.
The V-Fest Student Video Festival offers TWO sections of entry, a junior section (years 7-10) and a senior section (years 11-12)
There are prizes awarded for 1st 2nd and 3rd in both sections. There is also a Peoples Choice Award judged by the audience on the night. The winner of each section also receives a V-Fest trophy.
You can also follow the V-Fest Facebook page for any updates.

CAPA Music Ensemble
Members of the CAPA Music Ensemble performed Good Riddance by Green Day for Year 12 during their Graduation Assembly. Due to Covid restrictions, the ensemble could not perform live. Instead, they worked diligently to record their own parts individually. We hope you enjoy their combined efforts! A special thank you and acknowledgement goes to Lili Lonchampt (vocals), Lara Goodman (violin) and Xavier Wilson (guitar) for all of their hard work!
